We are the team behind memorio.
Enabling dignified remembrance is a special concern of ours. Our professional skills complement each other
in an ideal way.
We often only remember deceased personalities when they have supposedly accomplished or created great deeds or works.
However, we are guided by the view that every person has or had a place in the development of our world. That is why we would like to give the bereaved
opportunity to remember their deceased in an appropriate manner.
During your lifetime, as part of your death planning, you can decide for yourself how you would like to be remembered by others.
With this in mind, you can use the input template we provide to make entries and documents that will help others to preserve their memories.
By attaching a QR code to the grave, you can provide more information than is possible on a gravestone.
It was important to us that the aluminium badge on which the QR code was engraved was unobtrusive but still visible.
The aluminium badge should therefore not appear as an additional grave decoration or even in competition with it, even if it
even though its simplicity makes it stand out.
We provide access to an ad-free internet platform in which content provided by the bereaved is entered.
This can be text, images or links related to the deceased person. We create a QR code for this purpose,
which is attached to the aluminium badge supplied by us on the grave.
This content is read out using a suitable readout device
(e.g. smartphone, tablet or similar).
The interactive input template on our website
https://memorio.info/en/memorial-page
is designed so simply that a professional memorial page can be created.
We know from our own experience that many decisions have to be made immediately after the death of a person.
That is why we give our customers enough time to design the content of the QR code.
This period can be extended if necessary.
However, you should inform the stonemason you have commissioned as soon as possible,
that you intend to affix an aluminium badge with the memorio QR code to the grave.
You should place your order for the QR code on the aluminium badge as soon as possible so that it can be sent to the stonemason in good time
before the headstone is placed on the grave.
It is sufficient to enter the name of the deceased person or the name of the common grave at this point.
You can then enter all the other information
at your leisure in the course of the following period.
Of course, you can also attach a QR code to the grave if the date of death was some time ago.
If you make the entries for yourself as part of your death provision, you should ensure
that your heirs or surviving dependants are aware of this memorial page.
It is also advisable to keep this information together with the access data,
as you leave your bank details, for example. You can also decide whether and how the QR code
should be attached to your grave.
It is possible to enter individual data for up to four deceased persons via the input template.
It is also possible to add further names of deceased persons to the memorial page at a later date.
This can be done at any time. If the support period has already expired at this point, it is possible to
revive it again.
In the case of a grave with more than four deceased, please contact us so that we can discuss suitable solutions.
No, we do not limit the storage space for integrating data into the memorial page.
For image files of 500 MB or more, we charge a one-off fee in accordance with our price list.
When uploading the files in the input template, you can see how much storage space you are currently using.
You will be notified in good time
as soon as the first 500 MB are reached.
Links from video or audio files to YouTube and other platforms are possible.
If you want to link private videos or private audio files, you can first save them on YouTube or hosting platforms such as
GoogleDrive, OneDrive, Dropbox or similar and then insert the corresponding
link in the memorial page. If you need technical support, we will be happy to help you.
A book of condolences is included in the service.
This enables people who read the QR code to make personal entries and offer their condolences.
If you do not want individual entries to be visible in the book of condolences, you can block them.
You can also close the book of condolences completely at any time
and open it again at any time.
The book of condolences is not published by default and must be activated by you.
After conclusion of the contract, we enable the content of the website, which is read out with the QR code, to be changed at any time.
The book of condolences will also remain open for entries during this time. In addition to providing advice on completing the input template,
we also check the entries for compliance with our GTC.
After you have made entries in the input template, you can save them.
You will then receive an ID (memorio ID), which you can use to access the entries again.
The QR code will be sent to you as an image (.png) and as a link immediately after the order has been placed and payment made.
Before a contract is concluded, the data is stored for 2 weeks and you can also access and change it during this time. This service is free of charge.
Once the contract has been concluded, your entries are stored for the next 10 years and can be changed by you.
After this time, we will not delete the QR code, but within the scope of technical and physical possibilities,
the QR code will remain readable at no additional cost to the purchaser.
After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation which also contains the login details for your Internet storage space.
The password for the login should be changed by you the first time you log in.
It must consist of at least 8 digits containing letters and numbers.
This is the only way you can make or change entries on your memorial page.
After completing the input template, you can assign a password.
This must have at least 4 characters and blocks the readability of the QR code
for the categories you have selected.
By passing on the password to persons you have specified, you can determine the group of people who can read this protected
content with the QR code.
Yes, your website is permanently ad-free.
We will not integrate external advertising partners into your memorial page at any time.
This should be reserved exclusively for the memory of the deceased.
No self-promotion is carried out on the aluminium badge supplied by us either!
Due to legal regulations, however, it is necessary for us to discreetly refer to our legal notice as well as the terms and conditions and privacy policy within your memorial page.
If you have linked to other websites, you may be asked to accept cookies.
As a precaution, we would also like to point out that when embedding links (e.g. on YouTube), adverts may be displayed.
Unfortunately, we have no influence on this!
By affixing the aluminium badge with the QR code to the grave,
it becomes part of the grave and, under German law, is subject to the penalties of the German Criminal
Code (including Sections 168, 303 et seq.), according to which anyone who disturbs the peace of
the dead or damages or destroys gravestones is liable to imprisonment for up to three years or a fine.
There is no standardised regulation for the design of gravesites in Germany.
The guidelines for grave design are issued individually by the respective cemetery administration.
Our enquiry at several cemeteries in Germany did not reveal any prohibition on affixing a QR code.
A) Attaching the aluminium badge
We generally recommend having the aluminium badge affixed to the grave by the stonemason you have commissioned anyway.
If no headstone is erected or no grave border is created and you are therefore unable to commission a stonemason, please contact us.
We will support you with the individual design.
We would like to point out that, in the opinion of the experts working with us, affixing the QR code outdoors with
double-sided adhesive tape or pads, even if they are special adhesive tapes for industrial production, cannot be used to create a permanent, frost-proof connection!
From the wide range of speciality adhesives available for outdoor use, we would like to highlight 3 products:
Otto Chemie Otto Seal S70
UHU Max Repair POWER Tube
Bison Poly Max
B) Attachment to grave lantern or slate grave board
As an alternative to attaching the QR code to the grave, we work together with partners and, due to the high quality and attentive realisation of the orders, we can
recommend without reservation the companies
MEMORIAM Gedenktafeln
Leuchtglas Grablaternen
for attaching the QR code to the grave.
When you complete your order for our 'Basic' product, the mounting options of our partners are presented.
Yes, different dimensions for the aluminium badge are generally possible. We can also provide the QR code in other file formats.
We will be happy to make you an offer on request.
